two minutes to your first marked brief.
Veraciting is an Office Add-in. You install it from Microsoft AppSource or your firm's Microsoft 365 Admin Center — the same place Word's other add-ins come from. No installer, no admin password, no system extension.
Mac — Word for Microsoft 365
macOS Sonoma (14) or Sequoia (15) recommended. Apple silicon and Intel both supported via Office's native build.

Windows 10 (1903+) or Windows 11. Word LTSC 2021 also supported. 64-bit Office assumed.
Install on Windows →on a Mac, in under two minutes.
Recorded once last Tuesday on a 2023 MacBook Air running Sonoma. Should take about the same on yours.
open Word.
Any document will do. Veraciting attaches to Word itself, not to a specific file.
insert → get add-ins.
In the menu bar, Insert → Get Add-ins…. The Office Add-ins window opens.
search "veraciting."
Type our name in the search box. Click Add on the listing with the forest pilcrow icon. Microsoft will ask you to accept the add-in's terms — that's standard.
the ribbon adds a tab.
You'll see a new Veraciting tab in Word's ribbon. The ¶ pilcrow icon is the pane toggle. Click it to start.
onboarding · three quiet screens.
Welcome, default jurisdictions, and a try-it screen with a sample brief. The verification index downloads (~12 MB) on the second step. After that you're scanning.
on Windows, the same five steps.
Word for Windows behaves almost identically; the menu paths differ in two places.

In the ribbon, Insert → Get Add-ins. Office Add-ins window opens.

Same as on Mac. Click Add; accept the terms.

uninstalling is a single click.
In Word, go to Insert → My Add-ins, find Veraciting in the list, click the menu, click Remove. The ribbon tab disappears immediately; the local index is cleared from browser-local storage on the next Word launch.
three things to try, then email us.
I don't see the Veraciting tab in Word.
Quit Word and reopen it. The ribbon refreshes on launch. If the tab still doesn't appear after a full restart, your AppSource install may not have completed — try the install steps again, and check that you're signed in to the same Microsoft account in Word that you used at the store.
The scan finds zero authorities even though my brief has cites.
Two common causes: (1) the document is open in Protected View — Word blocks add-ins from reading it. Close and reopen, choosing Enable Editing. (2) Your jurisdiction isn't in the default set; check Settings → Scope → Jurisdictions and add what you need.
The pane says "we couldn't reach the index server."
Marking still works using your last downloaded index. Verification will be limited until we can sync. Common causes are corporate firewalls — ask IT to whitelist cdn.veraciting.com and licenses.veraciting.com. If you're outside a corporate network, just retry; the CDN is usually quick to recover.
