every release, in plain english.
We don't ship "performance and stability improvements." If we changed something, you'll see what it was. Newest at the top.
state coverage expands to 27 jurisdictions.
Nine more state reporter and code indexes added: Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Arizona, Colorado, Wisconsin. Verification quality matches federal at v1.5 launch.
- added · nine state jurisdictions, full reporter + code coverage
- fixed · short-form cite resolution when only one prior long-form exists
- fixed · Passim threshold respected when user manually unmarks an occurrence
- improved · index download resumes if connection drops mid-update
pin-cite range checking arrives.
v1.5 now verifies that pin-cites fall within the opinion's actual page range. A cite to "Pereira, 138 S. Ct. at 2114" is flagged if 2114 isn't between the opinion's first and last pages — usually a transposition.
- added · pin-cite range checking for federal & SCOTUS reporters
- added · cite-detail drawer shows "suggest 593 U.S. 388" inline when we have a candidate
- changed · flagged-cite styling — left border thickened to 3px for visibility
- fixed · settings modal Esc-to-close now also fires on the jurisdiction picker submodal
quietness pass.
Most of this release is about not being annoying. Status toasts no longer pile up if you scan twice in a row; the pane keeps your scroll position when you return from a cite-detail drawer; the ribbon's "Insert TOA" is correctly disabled until a scan has run.
- fixed · duplicate toasts on rapid re-scan
- fixed · pane scroll preserved across drawer navigation
- fixed · Insert TOA button state on cold open
- improved · cite-detail jump-to-occurrence pulse easing
verification ships. signal-orange is earned.
v1.5 is the release that justifies the name. Veraciting now cross-checks every detected cite against a local index of reporters, codes, regulations, and agency precedent — flagging anything we can't verify in signal-orange. Included for current annual subscribers, as promised.
- added · v1.5 verification engine — five-check resolution per cite
- added · flagged-cite UI: pane chip, doc-page underline, detail-drawer "why"
- added · Cornell LII statute index · CFR snapshot · EOIR I&N Dec.
- added · Settings → Trust → Index update cadence (Weekly / Monthly / Manual)
- changed · ribbon icon for Scan updated; pane status text reads "ready" vs "verifying"
verification opens to active subscribers as opt-in beta.
Six weeks of beta on real briefs before general release. Thanks to the 47 attorneys who turned on the beta flag and sent us false-positive reports — the verifier shipped with a measurably lower flag-noise rate than where it started.
- added · opt-in beta toggle in Settings → Trust
- added · in-pane "Send false-positive report" with no document content attached
onboarding gets a third screen.
Setup now ends with a "try it" step that offers to open a sample brief — a public-domain SCOTUS amicus — so first-time users can see what a scan feels like before pointing the add-in at a real draft. Per-user persistent skippable, of course.
- added · onboarding step 3 with sample brief shortcut
- added · ⌘ ⌥ V keyboard shortcut for "Open pane"
- fixed · onboarding state persistence across reinstall
agency precedent expanded.
NLRB and SSA Social Security Rulings join EOIR I&N Dec. in the marking index. The agency badge in the pane now distinguishes NLRB blue from BIA forest, since federal practice cites both.
- added · NLRB & SSA SSR recognition in cite detection
- added · IRS Rev. Rul. and Rev. Proc. citation patterns
- improved · short-form cite resolution for agency reporters
- fixed · re-scan correctly handles documents with mixed Best Authority + Veraciting marks
veraciting v1 ships.
Marking, TOA insertion, TOC hyperlinking. Mac and Windows. AppSource public listing. $79/year. The product the studio set out to build is in the wild.
- shipped · cite detection: cases, statutes, regulations, agency precedent
- shipped · idempotent marking with
veraciting_TA_namespace - shipped · native Word TOA field insertion, Passim at 5+, court-aware hyperlinks
- shipped · task pane UI: idle, scanning, marked, with cite-detail drawer
- shipped · Settings modal — Scope / Output / Trust groups
- shipped · Mac (Word for M365 on macOS Sonoma+) & Windows (Word for M365 on Win 11)
closed beta opens to 200 attorneys.
A small private beta in federal-immigration practice. Two months of real briefs surfaced ~140 issues — the long tail of citation idioms, jurisdiction-specific reporters, and Word add-in oddities you can't catch on synthetic fixtures.
- thank you · to the 200 attorneys who broke this so it didn't break for anyone else
Patch releases roughly every two weeks; minor releases roughly monthly; major releases when they're ready. We don't ship on a calendar — we ship when a release has a sentence we can put at the top of a changelog entry.
